Review - FEAR 3

If you have ever played a F.E.A.R game before, you will know what to expect when you open up a copy of F.E.A.R 3. A dark, generic, corridor shooter with occasional jump scares and a tacked on slow motion mechanic. While the first in the series set the standard on the next-gen series of consoles, it has since been overshadowed in its genre superior survival horror games. The only problem is, the developers of Fear 3 seem not to know this. They rely on the tired and overused "monster closets" and occasional Alma sighting to scare you. These scares work the first few times, but quickly grow tired as you travel through the short campaign.

Speaking of which, this game has one of the shortest campaigns that i have played in a while. 8 missions long, one could easily finish this game in about five hours, and that's on the harder difficulties. These few missions also follow the FPS stereotype. You have your rescue mission, your vehicle mission, and an escape mission. Really the only one missing is a stealth level, which probably would have been one of the most fun levels in the game, had it been made. The slow motion mechanic lends itself to stealth game play leading to a bevy of opportunities that were not exploited.

In the weapons this game follows the mold again. Hey look, a three round burst assault rifle, or a sub-machine gun that looks like every other sub-machine ever used in a game. The two most unique and entertaining weapons are not even available until the game is halfway over and you won't even finding yourself having fun with them either. Realistically, you could beat this entire game with just the starting pistol and slow mo, giving you little reason to do anything else. This isn't saying that the shooting isn't satisfying, far from it. There is nothing more satisfying than lining up that perfect pistol headshot or turning a soldier into goo with a shotgun, I just wish that there were more ways to do it. But when you combine that with a somewhat clunky cover mechanic, that sometimes leaving you hanging in the wind.

FEAR 3 suffers from the same problem as most FPS games this generation, where it has monochromatic gray backgrounds and mediocre graphics. Occasionally it has some good areas that could be used for some more exciting or creepy fights instead of just passing on through during one of the "haunted phases" (not a game definition) During these phases, the screen becomes slightly blurry and something freaky might happen. The only downside to these situations is that during these phases there is no chance of being attacked by an enemy, removing all tension from the situation.

If it sounds like I hate this game, I don't, I love it. They added a level of persistence through the single player that didn't exist in any of the previous games. You earn new character levels through completing different types of challenges. these new levels bring either more magazines for your guns, more grenades to carry, and more slow mo time. The only disappointing thing is, you progress through the 21 levels pretty quickly, achieving them all by the time you are finished with your second playthrough. Once you are level 21, you feel like a god compared to when you had started playing through the game. You have twice as much time in slow motion, twice as many magazines for your guns, and twice as many grenades in your pockets.

To add to the replayability factor, as you beat each mission you unlock another character with a different play style. Instead of starting off with guns and grenades like your first character, you play as a psychic ghosts that can possess, levitate, crush, or shoot people with psychic blasts. This changes the way you play the level the next time through and adds to the shelf life of the game.In the end, this is a great game, but it is deeply flawed and could do with improvements to both the story and the gameplay. Even with the magical talent of John Carpenter behind this game, the story is still crap. I love this game, I just wish it was better.

Play Games: Engaging Emotional and Mental Emotions

Many people participate in games for entertainment and fun. Many games feature a challenge or story lines that engage emotional and mental emotions. This explains why gamers keep coming back to their favorite games. Games also offer the ideal opportunity for passing time when there is nothing else to do. When you play games you give yourself an opportunity to relieve yourself from stress. Playing games allows you to practice and to learn life skills. You learn how to organize, create content, prioritize, lead strangers, make friends, feel empathy, make hard choices and give mercy.

Having a bearing on an individual's health and learning:

Like most of the other medical and mental conditions, certain risk factors can lead to compulsive gaming. Therefore younger people are more likely to develop into pathological gamers than older people. Furthermore, people with high hostility, lower social competence and greater impulsivity are more likely to become game addicts. In terms of gender, men are more likely to develop into video game addicts compared with women. In addition, gamers who engage in video games for greater amounts of time are also more likely to develop into pathological gamers.

Playing video games can prove beneficial in many ways including improving skill level and social relations. On the other hand, video games can be harmful to self and others. The amount of time spent playing games can have a bearing on an individual's health and learning. For school going children, the more time they spend playing games for entertainment the more likely their school performance will be affected. Furthermore, when much time is taken while playing games, a person's physical health is undermined, leading to repetitive stress injuries or obesity.

Therefore, self-monitoring games can overcome excessive play and prevent compulsive gaming to avoid social/emotional problems and obligations. Parents should be keen about monitoring their children to protect them from possible dangers. Parental rules and setting limits and involvement in physical activity can decrease the potential risks associated with excessive gaming. Furthermore, this will help to enhance the children's school performance.

The content of the game can have a bearing on learning behaviors. Specific educational games improve skill levels for reading and math. Furthermore, health learning games improve health behavior compliance. On the other hand, violent video games are associated with aggressive thoughts, behaviors and feelings. Therefore, violent games should be avoided by choosing educational, non violent and pro social video games. Parental guidance is critical in ensuring the content of play chosen makes the children better persons.

play games can be used to improve visual attention skills. These skills can be transferred readily to real life. Therefore, it is advisable to research on possible benefits attributed to specific video games before taking the initiative to purchase play games.

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Keyboard Review

When it was time to replace my last keyboard, I decided to give the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate a shot. With a strong backlit keyset, mechanical inner design, full macro and programming support and five extra keys to throw macros on, the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate offered a great feature set for a gaming keyboard. I have been a huge fan of Razer's gaming mice and headsets for years now and was curious to see if their keyboards provided the same high-quality results and dependability.

As with most of Razer's products, this keyboard had a lot of marketing hype to live up to. The two biggest features of the keyboard are the mechanical keys and the programming functions. While the programming function can be found on many gaming keyboards, a mechanical keyboard can be hard to come by. Razer claims this design provides a more responsive keystroke with less travel and a firm feeling while typing. Mechanical keyboards are also supposed to be easier to use for extended gaming sessions and provide better ergonomic benefits than their membrane-based competitors.

Upon unpacking the keyboard, I was presented with a high-gloss black keyboard with an aggressive angular design. The keyboard felt substantial in my hands and the included stands on the back made for a solid and stable fit on my desk. Having a glass desktop, I have had many keyboards that liked to shift and slide around during intense use. Between the weight and high-grip rubber feet on the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, I have yet to experience this issue.

With raid time coming closer, I loaded up World of Warcraft and got ready to put the keyboard to the test. From the moment you start typing on the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, you notice the difference the mechanical composition makes. The keys respond with light pressure and provide a satisfying and hearty feel and sound. As a healer for the raid, split second decisions and frantic keystrokes are the norm. At first, I found that the sensitivity of the keys threw off my rhythm slightly, but found that I could actually register a keystroke without fully pressing the key.

By being able to double-tap keys and quickly transition from one key to the next, my overall response time decreased and my command throughput increased. With the extra macro keys the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate provided, I could keep big heals and emergency damage prevention within finger reach for those surprise moments. Best of all, after five hours of solid gaming my fingers and wrists felt good. There were not aches or fatigue as I had experienced with some keyboards. Beware-If you are looking for a whisper quiet keyboard, the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is not the keyboard for you. However, I found that I enjoyed the sound the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate made and the direct feel the keys provided.

While this keyboard provided a noticeable benefit to my response times and total action levels, it takes a little use to start seeing the full benefits. For a casual gamer, these benefits would probably be pretty minor. In contrast, for a competitive RTS, FPS and MMO player like me, the difference the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate made was rather surprising and very noticeable.

Don't think this gaming keyboard fits your style?

Take a look at this Razer Blackwidow if you are unsure.

That gaming keyboard is comparable to this Razer Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard and it might be the one you like.

Horde Leveling Dungeons Where You Can Also Make Nice Amounts of Gold

Have you just started a new Horde character? Well, if you want to boost your XP rate from time to time, and also make some gold in the process, it's not a bad idea to complete a few Horde leveling dungeons.

However, not every dungeon can provide you with a great deal of XP and also a decent amount of gold. So, in this post I'm going to underline a few of the best Horde leveling dungeons for XP and gold, to put in your leveling path.

Scholomance

Scholomance is one of the Horde leveling dungeons with a high concentration of trash mobs, which means you will be getting a lot of XP. The level range is 40-44. There are many quests in this instance and there are 13 bosses.

Although most of the blue loot is bind-on-acquire, there's a nice Enchanting formula that drops here, which can be sold for up to 1000g depending on server. The Spectral Researchers can drop Formula: Enchant Weapon - Lifestealing, a great enchantment that can be applied to Heirloom weapons. You can also make a lot of gold as an Enchanter by crafting and selling the enchantments. They usually go for up to 300g each.

Tip for Enchanters: In any instance you go as you level up, you can (and you should) ninja all the items that you can roll for, to disenchant them and sell the parts. You'll make nice gold this way as you level up. Players don't usually care, since their main goal is XP. However, in case someone really needs an item, it's nice to pass it, instead of disenchanting it.

Zul'Farrak

This dungeon is located in northern Tanaris. The level range is 46-49. This should be the instance to run before Stratholme, if you're leveling your character via Horde leveling dungeons.

Zul'Farrak has a pretty dense population of trolls, therefore, the XP here is not bad. Plus, there are several quests that you can pick up and complete inside the instance. The bosses don't drop extremely valuable loot, but most trash mobs drop 1-4 pieces of Mageweave Cloth. This type of intermediate level cloth sometimes sells for 60-70 gold per stack.

So, since there are many mobs inside, and they frequently drop something valuable, Zul'Farrak is one of the best Horde leveling dungeons.

These two Horde leveling dungeons are not bad to choose as your leveling destinations from level 40 to 48, if of course, you want to level up via dungeons. However if you want to level up your character as quickly as possible, the best choice is solo questing, following an optimized leveling path. That means you should know exactly where to go for each and every quest, and also exactly what you must do. That can be easily achieved with an in-game, player-made Horde leveling guide.

If you're looking for an optimized, in-game Horde Leveling Guide, just follow this link.

Also, here are two other Horde Leveling Dungeons where you can boost your XP rate and also get nice gold.

Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim Disc Read Errors

You finally picked up that new game you've been wanting to buy and it's been that kind of week, you just need to get away. There is no better escape than melting into your favorite chair, grabbing your favorite snack and beverage of choice and then flipping on the Xbox 360 console for some game time. You carefully tear off the clear plastic wrap on your new Xbox 360 game, pop out the disc and place it in the DVD tray. You hit the close button, sit down with great anticipation and then "gasp", nothing. The game disc isn't loading, the onscreen menu just shows "reading" and then it stops attempting to read and shows "open tray". You get up, annoyed and hit the eject button and then hit the button again to close the tray, but again it just shows "reading" and then goes to "open tray".

This most aggravating problem is commonly known as "disc read error". Even though it is very fixable it is nonetheless a major interference in your game play. The cost to get this repaired is around $50.00 USD and about one day turn around depending on whether you can find someone local to do the repair. If you have to ship it out for repair, the time and cost will definitely increase. To find someone you can either check your local Craigslist ads or do a Google search for local repairs. You will want to find someone with verifiable electronics repair experience who has a legitimate business license and insurance. There are no actual Xbox 360 Repair Certifications since there are no programs offered by Microsoft to repair the Xbox 360.

Once you have found someone to repair your Xbox 360 for the disc read error, then you will be back on the road to game play recovery. But, what if you cannot find someone local that you are willing to pay to repair your disc read error on your Xbox 360? There is always the possibility that you may want to try and repair this problem yourself. It could be just a dirty laser lens; the repair would take about a half hour to an hour to repair yourself. (We do not recommend this repair to anyone who is not experienced with repairing electronics) The first thing you will need to do in order to repair the disc read error problem is break open the Xbox 360; this link will walk you through opening your Xbox 360 console (you can search for disassembly of the Xbox 360 console). Once you have opened the Xbox 360 you will need remove and open the DVD Drive. We are assuming at this point that you have know-how in opening your drive. Now that you have opened the DVD Drive you can clean the laser lens with a Q-tip and a very small amount of rubbing alcohol. Put the drive back together and you will want to test the drive before you put the console back together.

If after you have cleaned the laser you are still getting the "open tray" on your monitor or TV you will need to determine if the laser is bad or if something else is wrong with the DVD Drive. Most of the time the laser will be the culprit that stops working. But, just to make sure it is the laser you are going to want to test a couple of other parts on the drive first. With the top and bottom DVD Drive cover removed, and the DVD tray in the closed position, move the laser forward and then backwards to see if the worm motor is moving freely. If the lasers moves back and forth smoothly, then you can assume that the worm motor is working properly. Next we want to test the disc spindle motor, this is the motor that spins the disc when the drive is engaged and reading your DVD's. Again, with the tray in the closed position you will find the spindle motor in front of the laser and manually spin the motor using your finger. If the motor is spinning smoothly then you can assume that the spindle motor is operating properly. The last thing you will want to check is the spindle magnet on the top of the top drive cover to check to ensure that the spindle is not damaged and isn't stuck. If it isn't damaged or does not feels stuck then you can assume that it is functioning properly.

At this point we have eliminated everything except for the laser. Where to get a laser for your Xbox 360 DVD Drive? First we have to determine what laser we need; here is a link to determine the drive that you have: (you should find a guide on the internet that will help in Identifying your DVD Drive). One drive missing from this list is the Phillips LiteOn drive, but it looks just like the Phillips BenQ drive and takes the same laser; the internal drive is different but as stated uses the same laser. If your Xbox 360 has the Samsung or the Hitatchi DVD Drive, you will need to find and purchase the HD63 Laser Lens, if your Xbox 360 console has the Phillips BenQ or the Phillips LiteOn drive you will need the iHop-141x Laser Lens. To purchase one of these lasers you can search eBay or Amazon, the cost will be around $6.00 USD to $15.00 USD.

One thing that you cannot do with the Xbox 360 DVD Drive is swap the DVD Drives due to a keycode that is on the drive controller board which is married to the motherboard. The keycode on the controller board will only work with that motherboard and if you do swap the drives then your Xbox 360 will not read any Xbox 360 Game Discs, it will only read DVD's at this point. If you do decide to purchase a new drive, you can purchase the same drive that you currently have and take the drive controller board out of the original drive and install the controller board into the new same drive. The Samsung and Hitachi drives do not require any soldering, but to swap the controller boards of the Phillips BenQ or the Phillips LiteOn Drives you will need to desolder the original board and solder to the new same drive. The last alternative is to copy the keycode from DVD controller board via your computer and some special software and serial card and install the keycode onto any working drive made for the Xbox 360.

Note: Using a different drive than the original drive with the Xbox 360 may keep you from updating your console with Xbox live or updates from game discs.

One last bit of information is you choose to try calibrating the pots on the Laser this will be the easiest way of getting your console up and running. You will have to do a search for "calibrating pots on the Xbox 360 drive" to get the information and walkthrough.

Most of the Xbox 360 issues can be repaired; finding this information on the web will help you to decide if it's a job you feel comfortable in doing.

FragFX Shark 360 Review

FragFX Shark 360
The last time I truly enjoyed console gaming was on the SNES and the Genesis. Being a PC gamer, I had very little interest in the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, so it wasn't until about a year ago that I finally broke down and bought a 360. It was an impulse buy because a price cut had just gone in place. The first game I tried was the Kane & Lynch 2 demo. What a mess that was. The demo drops you right into the thick of things and I lasted a couple of seconds per restart.

My Xbox 360 remained relatively unused until the release of the Mass Effect 2 demo, which is when I decided to give it another go. I couldn't move, couldn't aim, and Shepard looked like a complete wanker flopping about clumsily unable to make it out of the first room. My pathetic display in Bulletstorm was when I decided that the 360 was only good for puzzle games and platformers.

Being unable to play console shooters is a common complaint for PC gamers. I think you need to be a console kiddy, raised with a controller in your hand, to really get it. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. I tried the FragFX Shark 360 from Splitfish and now I can magically play FPS games on the 360. My platform of choice will still be the PC for the unforeseeable future, but my Xbox 360 no longer feels so limited.

The FragFX Shark 360 comes in 3 pieces: the dongle, the mouse and the fragchuck.

Pros:
Wireless mouse and fragchuck, each take one AA battery.Totally plug and play, only have to set mouse and aiming sensitivity. Can be used with the PC. Helps to help justify the cost, and actually plays quite nicely on the PC.Headset can still be used for multiplayer games by plugging the set into your wired Xbox 360 controller.Mouse and fragchuck can be customized both in-game and out.Comes with a large mouse pad which can be used on your lap, on the couch, on your significant others head, or where ever you want to put it.Separate aiming sensitivity dial allows for greater precision. The Shark is available in some retail stores (such as Walmart).

Cons:
You need a wired controller for the Xbox 360 in order to use the FragFX Shark. The Shark itself is wireless, but the controller has to be plugged into the unit regardless.
The mouse is quite big. No larger than your average gaming mouse, but unless you have big man-hands then will have trouble reaching some of the buttons. Fortunately you can set up binds in a way that you won't need to use any keys that your stubby, little sausage fingers can't reach.
The included dongle will not plug into the back of the Xbox 360, because the casing around it is too thick. You have to use a front port.
The left and right mouse buttons seem a bit tight.
The $80 price tag.

The FragFX Shark 360 not only does what it claims and aims to do, it does it very well.

From the Splitfish site:

The FRAGFX SHARK 360 is a significant step forward for the console gaming industry because it not only provides an almost perfect PC mouselike FPS experience for gamers on the XBOX 360, but also provides an easy to adopt, high end, fully programmable analog stick counterpart that make it possible for hardcore PC FPS fans to enjoy their favorite shooters on XBOX 360, MAC or PC.

The Splitfish FRAGFX SHARK 360 lets you play FPS games on a console the way the were originally meant to be played - PLUS MUCH MORE. With the FRAGFX SHARK 360 you can intuitively aim with a mouse and adjust sensitivity on the fly as well as use advance functions like button remapping, turbo, wrist flick melee and much more with ease.

The FRAGFX SHARK 360 is optimized for FPS shooters, but also has all the functions of a regular XBOX 360 controller - so it can be used for all games. Gamers do not have to go through complex procedures for button mapping or sensitivity adjustments, The FRAGFX SHARK 360 is designed for simple and intuitive on the fly customization. Also, just like it's brother, the FRAGFX SHARK, the FRAGFX SHARK 360 has an uber long battery life of 50 hours of gameplay and 500 hours of standby on 2 AA batteries.

Key Features:
Play with the mouse on the XBOX 360 as you would do on a PCPlug and PlayFull XBOX 360, PC and MAC supportNEW 50h + play timeNEW 500h + power save standby1 AA battery per unit (requires only 2 AA batteries per set - batteries not included)Fast access to special features (eg macro, rapid-fire, button swap, stick swap, etc.)Brand new wireless 2.4 GHz technologyEasy in-controller setup (no more firmware updates required)On the fly dead zone adjustment wheelSixAxis support

Why Survival Island For Minecraft Was The Best Fun I Had In A Long Time

I have been playing various games for a long time and personally I have started to get a little bit bored of the same old games, run in, kill stuff, run back out or die.

I recently started looking for something different to play, so I decided to give Minecraft a go. I had heard great things about the sandbox type of gameplay of Minecraft, it made me feel positive that it would be a good change to my gaming.

So I installed Minecraft and initially though... oh dear god what have I done. The graphics are not completely awful but close. Then before I knew it I had been playing for hours and was absolutely loving the game. Minecraft really got hold of me and made me want to play more and more.

I eventually started to look for even greater challenges in Minecraft to help me continue enjoying it. Some of the creations made me feel like there was a lot more to it than I first thought.

I stumped across the Survival Island Minecraft map. This looked like the exact thing I had been looking for (especially being a big fan of castaway). So I eagerly installed the map and got loading up Minecraft, I was excited.

After loading into Minecraft and then the map I though, how the hell am I supposed to survive here, I guess that is the point.

The island consists of an extremely small sand base, a bit of dirt and a tree (from what I can remember). I did feel a sort of anxiety that I had not experience before in Minecraft, all I thought was "I must survive."

After a few more hours of gaming I was in full flow of the Minecraft Survival Island way, I had underground tree farms, automated cactus farms, bonemeal for seeds and lots of other stuff going on, I felt good.

Then all of a sudden disaster struck! I had mined in the wrong direction and opened up water into my underground cavern, oh dear.

I quickly plugged the leak with a bit of dirt and blocked it up a bit more with dirt so that I could make sure I would not make that same mistake again.

Xbox 360 4GB Review: Build and Design

This console system is slim. It has side vents that prevent overheating. It comes with a digital audio port, which helps if you use a separate surround sound.

If there is a downside of the size or slimness of the Xbox 360 4GB, it's the compatibility issues. You cannot use old Xbox hard drives that you used in bulky Xbox models simply because they are not compatible with the Xbox 360 4GB.
The button for opening the disc tray is not depressed and may feel like too sensitive.

The Xbox 360 slim comes with a 46b flash memory. There are five USB ports three of which are at the back. These help especially that saving games into USB flash drives is highly recommended and preferred by lots of users.

It has several features that the older Xbox models don't have. First, it has a Valhalla chip. It is not the best because there is the Jasper chip but it still better than others because it prevents some technical problems or better known as RRoD. Second, the Xbox 360 4GB uses a new Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi N. it is much faster than others. You will need the right router to enjoy the improved speed.

If you have been using PS3, you may feel that the manufacturer lacks effort regarding the graphics on the Xbox 360 4GB. However, the difference is not of a great extent.

The PS3's better graphics is due mainly on its better processor but the Xbox 360 4GB is way better when it comes to multiplayer games.

Conclusion

The Xbox 360 4g is slim. However, its size made it incompatible with old hard drives. The Most Common Issues That Arise With Your PS3 Console

In its early days, the PS3 was a console that came with a few small issues. As is normal when you include an extremely powerful processor in a small space along with an extremely powerful graphics card, the amount of heat that is generated internally can cause issues with crucial parts, and other errors. Most issues can be fixed by using your own reliable PS3 repair guide, however it is worth knowing how severe certain issues are, and what they mean before you jump the gun and start trying to repair your own console.

The Yellow Light Of Death

This is one of the most common faults with the PS3 console, and has in the past caused many headaches, not only with console owners, but with Sony's warranty repair department which is quite often flooded with consoled that have the notorious flashing yellow light issue. Although Sony will not clarify in great detail what causes the flashing yellow light issue, it is widely believed that it may be to do with overheating of the graphics card, which results in solder becoming soft on the motherboard, and wires coming loose. For most people who are handy with a soldering iron, this is a very simple fix.

The Red Light Of Death

Much like the yellow light error, the red light issue tends to relate either to overheating, or more commonly, it relates to issues with your hard drive. Understandably, this can result in loss of data, however using an eSATA cable, you will be able to remove and hot connect the hard disk to your home computer, and attempt any repairs yourself. Often, this does result in the need to install a new hard disk, which is quite easy to do at home, without the need to rely on a warranty repair from Sony.

Jammed Disk Issue

Sometimes through an internal fault, or even through either of the two above issues, a disk may become jammed in the Blu-Ray drive. Obviously, your games are extremely valuable to you, plus any other media that you may use such as Blu-Ray disks and DVD disks. This can sometimes be an easy fix, however it can also require the opening of the Blu-Ray drive for removal. For obvious reasons, this can be a tedious task, almost always requiring either a warranty repair, or the use of a good and comprehensive PS3 repair guide.

At the end of the day, most repairs to the Sony PS3 console are fairly easy to do by yourself. That's not to say that you shouldn't consider whether or not it is worth sending consoles away for a warranty repair, however for the time that you could save, it is sometimes worth doing the repairs yourself so long as you have access to a reliable and comprehensive PS3 repair guide. The choice is yours at the end of the day, and of course, it must be based on how comfortable you would be repairing your own console.

Your PS3 in most cases can be repaired using a reliable and certified PS3 repair guide.

How to Fix PS3 Problems On Your Own

A PS3 is a rather cool yet delicate gaming console. Once it gets messed up, there is no other way but to fix your PS3 in one way or another. Now, many people ask how they can fix PS3 problems when they strike. Honestly, there are some PS3 issues that can be fixed by gamer's hand, but some issues should be given close attention by more technically inclined experts. But, we all know that gamers tend to be really impatient at some times and prefer most issues be fixed as soon as possible and be back to gaming.

So, what to do to fix PS3 problems by your own?

Power Cycle Your Console:

This may be a new word for most people but power cycling is basically turning off the console and turning it back on. This is usually the first thing to do when the console tends to freeze during gameplay. There is always a time when freezing cannot be avoided. Actually, it has become a normal issue when it comes to gaming consoles not just the PS3. So, when the console seems to be stalling up a bit, you can always turn it off and turn it back on.

Check for Cable Issues and Settings:

Cables are usually the first parts of a console to get really worn out especially if not kept properly. For audio and video issues, turning off the console and checking out if there are loose cables or connections would be an important thing. This is actually a good start in determining the exact problem when you fix PS3 issues. Audio and video settings should also be kept it mind. Setting up the video is quite easy. Press and hold the power button until you hear two little beeps. It automatically sets the video configuration.

Clean Your PS3:

We all know that different kinds of dirt can easily break down any electronic gadget or device and this includes the PS3. Dust, in particular, can hinder the PS3's fan which can lead to overheating and system malfunction. Blowing the console with a hair dryer quite helps to clean of any dirt and dust in and on the console. This may even help fix PS3 issues such as freezing.

Let Your Console Breath:

Do not keep the console in a closed place especially when being used. This will cause the console to heat up which can lead to freezing and sudden shutdowns. It is better to put the console in open space when being used.

Use a Repair Guide:

For PS3 issues beyond the skill of a typical console owner, using a repair guide would provide a more detailed way to fix PS3 issues such as hardware failure. There are repair guides available on the internet which may be an option for people who wants to do the repairs on their own. Most of them are not for free though.

However, for people who do not have the confidence of doing the repairs by themselves, taking the console to repair companies is always an option. What's great about these repair companies is that owners won't need to worry about messing up their consoles more since the consoles are handled by experts. Consoles under warranty can, of course, be taken for repair or even replacement. Electronic devices are prone to various issues that are inevitable. However, these issues can be prevented with proper console handling and care. Some issues may even be fixed through the simplest of ways like cleaning the console. There you go. Here are some of the ways on how you can fix PS3 problems on your own.

Coming Up With a Video Game Concept

In game design school, part of what I learned was not only to design an original game, but that you can gain inspiration from other sources.

Many of today's video games are loosely based on feature films. Franchises such as the Lord of the Rings and the James Bond films have had many successful games based on them over the years, which has added to their popularity and drawn in new generations of fans. But, if you plan on attending a game design school, you may want to take a stab at creating something original.

It's hard to come up with original ideas these days as many video games are based on films, television shows and vice versa. If you're starting out in game design school, you may want to think of something original. Not all games have to be fantasies with aliens exploding and guns blazing, as seems to be the norm. You may want to think of something that might be challenging and that can have some sort of benefit to it.

While many game design schools want to see originality, you can most likely utilize themes and ideas from existing games as inspiration and expand upon them. For instance, create a new persona and if that character has specific traits, maybe give them different ones that are unique. If a certain character can fly, why not make him walk through walls, or even better: breathe underwater, if he's human?

One controversy with many games is that they are too dark and violent; in that case there is also a huge market for games geared towards younger children. One thing I focused on while in game design school was to create a game that revolved around learning, but I also wanted to add some exciting elements top make the game more visually interesting as well as instructional.

This was one approach I took when I was in game design school. I wanted to create something for my nephews that would be entertaining and educational at the same time, without resorting to excessive violence or obscene language. Coming up with an original idea proved to be quite a challenge, but as I worked on the rudimentary ideas, it eventually came to fruition and in testing it with my nephews and their friends; they generally seemed to like it.

Maybe your interests lie in science or mathematics? Teaching games are not just for kids. Adults like them and they're also a great way to help expand your brainpower. We all like puzzles, like crosswords, word finds and Sudoku; perhaps elements of these puzzles may help guide you in developing a concept for a game?

I was glad that the game design school I attended gave me the ability to develop games that were useable for all ages. As there are many audiences for all types of games, this type of education was invaluable as it allowed me to learn how to develop ideas and bring them to full fruition.

How to Eject a Stuck Disc in a PS3 Game Console

You've rented a game or movie from the local "box" and you start to play the game or watch the movie when your PS3 shuts down. Thinking it is just an abnormality you try to turn the PS3 back on, but just as the green light comes on, you see a quick flash of a yellow light and then it starts blinking red. Now what? The rented game or movie is stuck in the PS3. How are you going to get it out so you can return the disc and not start getting charged for everyday that you have it?

Well, there is good news for most of the PS3 models, but unfortunately not all PS3 models will allow you to eject the disc. I cannot state why some of the PS3 models will not allow you to eject the disc out of the drive and I have not been able to find any information to explain why some PS3 models will not allow the disc to eject. The models that will not allow you to eject the disc are the CECH-A01 and CECH-E01 PS3 models.

You can find the PS3 model information on the back of the PS3; the model number is located next to the serial number. If you find that your PS3 model is not one of the aforementioned models then you are in luck and you will/should be able to eject the stuck disc. You will need to first completely shut off the PS3 by turning off the console from the back. You should now have no lights on the front of the PS3; you are going to hold the "eject" indicator on the front of the PS3 and keep holding while you now turn the system on from the back of the console. You will keep holding the "eject" indicator on the front of the console which will kick on the fan louder than you normally hear the fan come on. In a few seconds after you hear the fan kick on you can stop holding the "eject" indicator and then you should see the "eject" blue light start flashing and in a couple of seconds the disc will start to eject allowing you to now take the disc back to the "box" you rented it from.

If you are one of many PS3 owners that have the A01 or E01 models you can try to find a walkthrough on disassembling the PS3 to physically remove the disc or you can find a local professionally licensed company that specializes on Video Game Console Repair to repair the PS3 for the Yellow Light of Death (YLoD), which once repaired, you will get your disc back. If you are not comfortable disassembling the PS3 or don't have the tools necessary to take the PS3 apart and you are located in an area where there are companies that you can take it to, you may want to consider shipping the PS3 console to a professional company on the web.

By chance, if you decide to take on the task of removing the disc yourself from the PS3 console, you should be aware that the Blu Ray drive will need to be reset because it will think that there is still a disc in the drive when the console is repaired. It is worth noting this information to any company that you take your PS3 to or ship it to for the repair of the YLoD. I would also warn anyone attempting to remove the disc to go slow and do not force the Blu Ray drive open as you can cause permanent damage to the Blu Ray drive.

If it doesn't work the first time, try it again, it works.

If you need more help regarding how to do this you can do a search for a Youtube video and you can also go to our video which will help you get the disc out - http://www.gamedayresources.com/Video-PS3LOADEJECT.html

If all of this seems overwhelming or not practical because you lack the tools or skills to try any of these repairs, you can send in your console to us to repair the problem for you. Go to http://www.gamedayresources.com/

The Evolution of the Current Generation's Consoles

Our current generation's consoles are surely nearing the end of their reign, this year the Xbox 360 will be celebrating its 7th year anniversary, the PS3 and Nintendo Wii, their 6th. However, the only new home console that has been announced was by Nintendo in 2011 at the E3 convention where they unveiled the Nintendo Wii U set for release in the fall of 2012. The current generation of consoles have changed a great deal from their initial launches over 6 years ago.

Xbox 360 Comparisons

The Original Xbox in 2005 was released with a £280 price tag. It was infamous for its red-ring-of-death problems. It was the first console that supported HD graphics but the HD was provided by a composite cable as it didn't have HDMI. It also came with a 20GB hard drive and no internal Wi-Fi but instead a £50 USB dongle had to be purchased. When released, Microsoft only shipped 300 thousand units to Europe and stock was extremely short, the console sold out instantly and many Xbox 360s made their way onto auction sites to be sold for over double the RRP!

The current model of Xbox 360 debuted in 2010; it is a much sleeker and more stable console. It is a lot smaller than the original and many fundamental flaws have been fixed such as in-built Wi-Fi, a HDMI port, a 250GB hard drive, a completely new dashboard and also the ability to use multiple streaming servers. You can pick up a new Xbox 360 for as little as £129.99 for the smaller 4GB model and around £179.99 for the 250GB model.

PS3 Comparisons

Released in 2006, the PS3 was priced at a whopping £425 but it was the second fastest selling console ever in the UK after the PSP. The original PS3 was a behemoth of a machine boasting a Blu-ray player, a specially developed cell processor, built-in Wi-Fi and a 60GB hard drive. The extra-large PS3 had its own backward PS2-compatible hardware, and memory stick, SD and compact card slots.

Then in 2009 came the much prettier and slimmed down version of the Playstation 3. With a reduction in both size and price, it allowed the PS3 to become more competitive with the Xbox 360. The current Playstation still has its unique Blu-ray player and a 320GB hard drive but with the slimming down, there have been a few major sacrifices. It lost its backwards compatibility play, a couple of USB ports and memory card slots. The controller also saw a slight upgrade from a six-axis to a much more solid dual shock version.

Nintendo Wii Comparisons

Released in the same year as the PS3 in 2006, it was a mould-breaking console, the console itself was under half the size of its counterparts with a futuristic design. The Wii was a big gamble for Nintendo and it was a huge success, it's never before seen 3D motion controls made it the perfect system for casual gamers and with a price tag of £179.99, it was by far the cheaper option.

Over the years the Wii has changed very little, we have had a black version and the latest version in August 2011 saw a horizontal lying console that had its game cube support removed to the annoyance of many consumers. The Nintendo Wii is great fun and you can pick up a console for as little as £99.99 bundled with Mario Kart. However, Nintendo are the first company to announce their next console, which will be coming out at the end of this year; the Nintendo Wii U.

Checkers: A Game Of Strategy

Checkers is a strategic board game that requires a square board with 64 slots. The board is usually patterned red and black, but it may also be of a combination of black and white.

Checkers is believed to have originated in the Egyptian lands. Written accounts of the game can be found dating back to 1600 BC. It is said that this game was modified by the French such that it could be played on a chess board much later. This helped in popularizing the game even further.

For those who love strategic games but don't have the patience for a 'boring' game of Chess, Checkers is the best alternative. This game is fast moving and does not overwhelm its players with rules.

The rules of this game are simple and can be understood without much difficulty. With just a little practice you can become a pro at this game. Players need to devise a strategy in order to gain an upper hand during play, and this strategy can differ with each individual.

The traditional version of this game could be modified by simple changes to be more interesting, and so as the popularity of Checkers increased, different versions of this game came up. Some of these variants are English draughts, Canadian checkers, Lasca, Cheskers and Anti-checkers.

It is important for those who enjoy this board game to keep with them an extra set of game pieces, as losing even a single piece can prove to be extremely irritating during game play.

This is a great game to play when you are with your friends or with your family. This game requires strategic thinking and planning ahead.

The game can be played by following these simple rules:

The 12 pieces each player has are called men, or in some cases, Kings. Generally two kinds of moves can be made. A single move involves moving a piece diagonally. A jump is made in an empty slot over an enemy's piece. Following this, the enemy's piece is removed from the board. The pieces are usually black and red in color.

The row closest to a player is considered as a King's row and if an opponent's coin moves into the King's row belonging to you, the opponent gets crowned. Getting crowned gives the piece permission to move backward too.

A player can win the game by taking the opponent's entire set of pieces captive and/or leaving the opponent without any moves.

The online version of this game can be played by a single player, with the computer as an opponent. Online Checkers provides hours of challenging fun to its players.

Steelseries Merc Stealth Gaming Keyboard - A Wise Choice

The SteelSeries Merc Stealth Gaming Keyboard features astounding color illumination that enables you to choose your level of brightness, giving you the ability to game even in total darkness. This is a rather smart choice for passionate and avid gaming lovers.

The 11° angle tilted gaming terrain keys that match your natural wrist position, rubberized movement of keys and the ability to set into four different illumination modes enhances the Steelseries merc stealth gaming keyboard comfort especially for long use session.

This gaming keyboard promises substantial benefits and just like the manufacturer claims that it is designed for 10,000,000 keystrokes, unlike the 1,000,000-2,000,000 on average lifetime keystroke of typical keyboards, I took patiently took time to test and justify if this is true.

After testing the keyboard with World of Witchcraft game, I found that though you will not map out the placement of keys in your head in just one use, this claim is not overstated because the left side of the gamepad is quite intuitive in its feel and it supports simultaneous keystrokes. The Z engine capability is very versatile and you can use your Steelseries Merc Stealth gaming keyboard on both FPS's and MMORPG's.

The is keyboard was just awesome from the moment I got it out of the box. It has a long USB chord (actually 6'') and plug cards that allows one to plug in a headset and mic directly into the back of the keyboard. An additional 2 USB ports increases its effectiveness.

Another impressive feature that makes the SteelSeries Merc Stealth a must have is its illumination. The keys are quite sensitive and light up very well. You can actually choose your level of brightness from subtle, ambient, intense or opt for it to stay off. The keyboard is wider than the standard keyboard but manageable.

Though, not all is well with the Steelseries Merc Stealth gaming keyboard, especially when it comes to the configuration. The Z engine software that comes with it takes a longer time to save a control set. Basic users can incur confusion when it comes to key customization after downloading the preloaded sets of games. However, this is just a minor glitch that requires more time to grasp the concept and you are good to go.

The Steelseries Merc Stealth gaming keyboard is an easy to use keyboard and once you get accustomed to using the WASD arrangement you will find the experience incredible.

Using the steelseries merc stealth gaming keyboard will surely improve your gaming experience. I think this keyboard is highly recommended for serious gamers who use their machine entirely for gaming purposes and not for office use.

I can positively attest that my play has drastically improved and quite sure that if you are a true and serious gamer, your play will improve further with the SteelSeries Merc Stealth Gaming Keyboard.

SteelSeries Shift - The Gaming Aficionados Ultimate Tool?

The SteelSeries Shift has made waves in the PC gaming world after its release and that is not just because of its size and cost, although that two are probably what the biggest splash. The waves about this new gaming keyboard have lapped at my feet giving me a curiosity that needs to be satiated that prompted me to purchase the keyboard, which by the way runs on the Ideazon technology of interchangeable keys called the Z-Board.

What made me really curious about this keyboard is its interchangeable keys. One of the come-ons of the keyboard is that its keys can be swapped depending on the game. I play a lot of StarCraft II and Medal of Honor and everybody knows that the keys to these games vary. SteelSeries offered a solution to this problem by creating a swappable keyboard that can easily be swapped depending on the game being played. It is just my luck that SteelSeries comes with the StarCraft II keyset and it also has the Medal of Honor keyset available. However for those who play games other than StarCraft II, Medal of Honor and World of WarCraft, there is no point in shifting to SteelSeries Shift.

The first thing that I noticed, and probably the first thing everybody who got a hold of the SteelSeries Shift, when I got the keyboard is its weight. The SteelSeries probably weighs more than 1.5 kilos. It is a great keyboard for downing your enemies when playing your game and it is also a great weapon to use in case somebody breaks in your house and tries to steal your stuff. I am not saying that you should hit somebody with your SteelSeries Shift but if need arises, don't be afraid to use it as a weapon.

The SteelSeries shift comes with a programmable keyboard. You can personalize your keyboards and program your macros to anything that you want it to be for ultimate utilization. The is keyboard is intelligent as it records the keys that you hit the most and will give a suggestion on where it can be placed for a more streamlined use. SteelSeries Shift will optimize the keys that you often use requiring less force in hitting it. This will give you better results in your gaming and will help you kill more foes. The SteelSeries Shift keyboard also has dedicated media control key that enables you quick access to your multimedia programs when you are not busy winning quests and destroying enemies.

Overall the SteelSeries is a good keyboard for gamers who play a lot of first person shooters games and into the StarCrafts II, World of WarCraft, and Medal of Honor then you have found your best friend. However if you just a casual gamer there is no point in shelling out $88 - $99 for a SteelSeries Shift keyboard. If design and originality is the only criteria for choosing a keyboard then SteelSeries Shift should get an award for innovativeness.

Don't think this gaming keyboard fits your style?

Take a look at this SteelSeries 7G if you are unsure.

Types of Games for Girls

Girls usually don't have many options of playing or having fun as compared to boys. Boys usually have lots of different things that they can do to keep themselves busy. In fact, boys have many different options to entertain themselves. For instance, boys can play different outdoor as well as indoor playoffs, they can play computer games, they can spend hours, days and even weeks with their friends and can do anything to keep themselves busy. On the other hand, girls usually don't play outdoor games; they don't love to play computer playoffs that are supposed to be action or high-resolution games. Most of the girls love spending time at home with the parents, siblings and friends. Alternately, other girls love cooking, shopping and chitchat.

So there is a lot of difference between the things that boys and girls do. When it comes to games, girls usually like playing cooking, dress up, make up, Barbie and Winx club. There are not many games for girls as are for boys. Girls gaming industry is not as big as boys gaming industry. Nevertheless, there are many different types of games for girls available on the market.

Different types of games for girls

· Dress Up

Dress up games are pretty famous among girls of all ages specifically among teenagers. In dress up games, kids have to dress up different characters with different clothes and shoes. This is the simplest and most played game.

· Makeup Games For Girls

Makeup games are supposed to be purely girlish games. In a makeup playoff environment, girls play with different makeup products. Girls apply various makeup products on their favorite characters like Barbie, Cinderella or any other fairy.

· Barbie

Who on this earth doesn't know about Barbie? Well Barbie itself and Barbie games are one of the most favorite playoff types that are available for girls. Girls of all ages love playing Barbie games including Barbie dress up, Barbie makeup, Barbie dancing, Barbie fashion, Barbie adventure, Barbie cooking and many others.

· Cooking

Cooking or I must say cooking competition games are another famous yet exciting girlish playoff category. In my opinion, every girl learns cooking from cooking games. Besides, cooking gaming competitions are also pretty famous where players are given a particular time to cook a dish.

· Doll house

This is another entertaining gaming category for girls particularly for girls under twelve. In a doll-house game, players need to clean, arrange, wash and manage a doll-house.

Come and play all the games for girls online with us.

Have the Rockstar Babies Outgrown Their PC Cribs?

Rockstar, the makers most known for their epic Grand Theft Auto series published L.A. Noire in 2011, a neo-noir crime video game that for a welcome change, has you play the hero - a cop, rather an honest cop, who sets out to purge the streets of Los Angeles, a crime ridden area in the 40s thriving in corruption, murder, prostitution, robberies, drug trafficking et cetera. It is quite addictive and intensely satisfying - I don't have to endure four bloody stars with all the cops tailing me in their cars, bikes, helicopters and tanks this time. Also, aiding Bondi developers to build a game on the lines of 2010's successful Heavy Rain is quite smart, strategically.

I exchanged my Uncharted 3 for L.A. Noire - The Complete Edition on PC, not wanting to spend too much on the PS3 platform since I may be travelling to China for the holidays. I had played Batman Arkham Asylum on my Sony Vaio prior to this and that was tremendous, wicked fun. The moment I reached home, I tore open the box and read the manual first, which was loaded with instructions regarding requirements etc, and inserted the CD 1, which had the protagonist sporting a vintage shirt, trousers and a hat and with a serious look, holding a gun, while watching a movie side by side. The installation first had me install the Rockstar Social Club after which the game began installing on my laptop. As Gregory Peck fought anti-Semitism in Gentleman's Agreement, my game was slowly loading itself onto the laptop. Then came the pause, and the instruction to insert CD 2, which had a blond lady in a white dress, her face hidden, and I dutifully obeyed it. The great part about the game, as mentioned in the booklet, was that it could run without the CD. After it got installed, I triumphantly clicked on the Desktop icon and waited for it to load. The first requirement was to download a mandatory patch, and I instantly did that too. This required a long waiting, and I waited patiently (and sometimes anxiously) for it like a man waiting outside the room where his wife is to deliver. I accidentally cancelled the installation and then found that the game was not loading at all. So then I reinstalled the patch, this time instructing all my family members to keep away from the laptop, just as King Kong protected the lady from being mauled by the dinosaurs. By seven thirty, I had it loaded completely. I was (forgive me for using this platitude) on cloud nine, and immediately began playing the game. It looked okay, good at times but I excused the graphics since I know games these days demand a lot of the latest software. I played it right up to two in the morning, solving many petty cases and some challenging ones as Officer Phelps, and then went to sleep.

The next day, after attending college, I eagerly rushed to continue with my progress and was irked when the laptop took some time applying regular updates. When the desktop settled after the usual starters (Do you want to scan this? Would you like to update this? ) and I clicked on the L.A. Noire launcher and then the Play icon, I was taken aback to get the message (L.A. Noire exe file missing. Please re-install game); I could not believe my eyes; I clicked on it again and again only to get the same message in the center of the screen, grinning at me malevolently. I checked through Program files and found it to be actually missing, like Agatha Christie's sudden disappearance. I checked on the Internet where I saw plenty of posts querying about the game's unplayability. I checked forums thinking - "The computer ate my Baby!" (Poor Lindy Chamberlain - curse that twisted dingo!) and saw that others were facing similar or worse problems. But I wasn't going to take that 'That's life!' argument; I was determined to get my exe. Some aggrieved was asked to disable antivirus and firewall, some were harshly informed to reinstall the game itself and I was like "Did Bondi or Rockstar never realize this while making or publishing this game?" I had similar problems with GTA 4 on PC that one ran on my desktop computer as if it had taken a pill of MDNA but it was mainly because of the system's obnoxiously extravagant requirements. But to face problems on my laptop, which well surpassed the recommended requirements was quite a shocker. I experimented to two whole days, searching pillar to post for help and also received many suggestions, but the game never worked. The patch callously displayed 'Error in Binary file", "Case File Missing", "Major Error" and many other... errors. I reinstalled the game five times, downloaded the patch thrice and even changed some setting to 'Never Notify'. But the game remained the same - unresponsive, buggy, dead.

There are three PC titles that have given me troubles - two are mentioned above and the third one is Saints Row 2, another pathetic PC port. I have begun to realize that in an attempt to enhance gaming experience, video game developers are utilizing various additional, highly advanced technology. Also to curb piracy and ensure distribution of authentic game (at least in USA, it won't work in India), they mandatorily ask to register online. I am scared of both aspects, not for my PS3 as it is a monster, but for my computers and laptops. How resolutely have the developers of Uncharted and Heavy Rain games limited only to the PlayStation 3! And how recklessly Bondi, Rockstar and Volition Inc. have stained their reliability in PC gaming by providing such buggy games! I nowadays opt more for console games as they, though expensive, are worth their money and most importantly work. PC has become an entirely different thing. Here, we have been forced to upgrade our computers more often that the game developers themselves! Games that ask for Quad Core Processor and the latest NVidia cards have restricted its audience to expert gamers and upper-class people. I saw my friend playing GTA San Andreas last year on the PC and scoffed at the how old his PC was. But now I feel that playing a game of 2005 that will surely work is better than these newly developed games that are giddy about their functioning.

If developers like Rockstar follow Naughty Dog's footsteps and restrict its platform to consoles only, I would welcome their decision. If they promise to deliver a game that looks polished and works without hang ups, even better. But if they do bring up another glitch-ridden game like L.A. Noire, I would be sorely disappointed. It's time Rockstar decided whether it has grown too big to try the PC... (Also I request Rockstar to do away with compulsory patch downloads since they are interminable headaches. Include the patch in the CD itself if required).

Warface - The Upcoming FPS

Warface is the new free FPS by Crytek games and will have the same graphics engine as Crysis 2 and Crysis 3.

Warface will have two gameplay modes:

PvP: the classic Team Deathmatch where players are divided into two teams and kill each other to get the best result recorded is usually the number of murders that have occurred or surplus determined in the head and try losing less bullets in a shootout (in this case, calls on the skills of the player). One of the peculiarities of this title is the ability to handle the rise all over the map, but rather, the ability to glide as in Crysis 2.

Player vs Environment: in this case, players are invited to complete together against the AI of the mission, the idea is a little Cooperative battlefield 3 and Call of Duty. The difference is that the mode will change every day as it is changed and there are points where teamwork may be necessary. For example, in a shootout before you can not, due to enemy fire and continue to give us shoot all the time, fire protection, while our comrades to leave the enemy to take him aside to the streets and free.

The cooperative mode contains these four classes, the different functions of the other soldiers:

Sniper: the most dangerous enemy in the war, which concentrate on the first shooting, and also the last, providing fire protection, but not necessary, just in time, but enemy fire.

Soldier (infantry) with weapons and equipment will be available exclusively, and can also provide additional ammunition and armor upgrades.

Doctor: As in the battlefield, the soldier with a defibrillator, you can put in the fight against our comrades in a bad feature.

Engineering: a soldier is special because it is dangerous, because C4 and Claymores have to protect against circumvention also with rockets and ground-ground (the tanks) and surface to air (air) gun.

As in Call of Duty, Battlefield 2 and Crysis is the device by the search, the magazine grew, muffler, and many other modifications. Another novelty is the possibility of challenging the giant mechs, which often struggle to fight them as third in FEAR No one knows for sure that you have to buy some weapons and there are big differences between the class enemy. Look at the last concern, the game could be a great success because it is a mixture of different games, and many are willing to penetrate the blood on the walls and floor.

The game is expected in late 2012.

Gaming Time for Dads, Relaxing With Or Without the Kids

Males take over an extremely specific role once they turn into a dad. A dad is really a reward in itself. The smiles you see, the tears you wipe, the stories you share with your child about when you were young. These times are priceless and will often be held very close in your memories. Yet you still need time to yourself so you can enjoy what you like as a person.

One example would be a gaming dad. As a gaming dad, when your children are taking a nap or sleeping in bed, that's your time to play games and or socialize with other dads online. A great resource for this is the Xbox 360 where you can have other dads or friends you know in real life on your friends list. There are numerous games that appeal to gaming dads. From racing games to FPS (First Person Shooter) games like any of the COD (Call of Duty) games. It's a great relaxing way to unwind from a long day of being a great dad!

Now what if your little ones are old enough to play the Xbox with you? By all means let them join you in the fun. There are TONS of games that dads can play with his kids and everyone will enjoy themselves! Games like Castle Crasher's and Batman. There is nothing like a dad and his kids saving the day and having fun doing it.

Gaming dads with older kids may possibly want to play a dancing game with them. Dancing games will add comic relief since it is fun to watch everybody dance. Just Dance 3 is an excellent game which will accomplish this. You'll find 45 tracks on this game, so each person will discover a song they each like to dance to. Plus as an added benefit you'll be able to play the game you would like to play so game time will in no way be boring.

There is no reason why dads can't be gaming dads. Gaming time is relaxing time and can be utilized as time spent with the children. Gaming dads can appreciate time by themselves, and it's often a very good way for them to clear their heads. Or appreciate time spent gaming with their little ones. Anyway you look at it, gaming is often a fun way for dads to get to have some fun while relaxing with or without their kids. It's a win-win experience.

Need For Speed - The Run Wii Review

Rat 7 - Cool Gaming Mouse

Are you a gamer? Do you like to have the craziest gear that's out there? I do. I like the latest gizmo's, sure, but I also like the most configurable and most capable. If you are into PC gaming, the you should check out Cyborg's Rat 7.

This little piece of electronic and mechanical wizardry, the Rat 7, is one of the sweetest little pointers I have ever used, to be sure. But there is more to it than that.

Not Just Cool Looking

The Rat 7 is not only just cool looking, though cool looking it is, it's also super accurate and precise. There's reasons for this, but I suspect that this is the main focus of this nimble little creature. They have built in a host of adjustments that you can add to this mouse. Calling it a mouse by the way, is like calling a Ferrari a car. It's just not enough. Nevertheless, they achieve this precision in a couple of ways.

Precision, Accuracy Comfort
The first way they achieve such awesome accuracy is to fit the mouse to your hand. After all, it's the match between your brain and your hand that is so vitally important in translating your intentions to action! The way they do this is to let you adjust every conceivable angle and axis of the mouse itself.

For example there is a capability that lets you adjust the actual length of the mouse. If you have bigger hands or deep palms, this lets you adjust accordingly. From a comfort and fatigue point of view, it's difficult to beat this kind of setting and adjustment.

In addition to this, there is also an adjustment for your thumb plate. Some people, such as myself, tend to flare their thumb out unknowingly when they are using the mouse. There is an adjustment that lets you fiddle with the amount of flare. This is really nice. It's something that doesn't spring to mind when you are gaming, but the truth is the way your opposable digit connects with the input device is actually quite critical.

Rat 7 Switchable Faceplates

Finally, there is the ability to switch out face plates on the Rat 7. You might be thinking this is a capability for the purpose of vanity. Not so. The truth is each of the three face plate sets have a different finish. The standard face plate is a matte finish. But there are two others. Once raises the height of the mouse, and the other has a rougher finish. Both have their place.

If you are looking a great gaming mouse, check out the Rat 7 by Cyborg. You will never use an ordinary mouse again.

If you are a PC gamer, you owe it to yourself to check the Rat 7. It's pricey, but worth every cent.

My Saddest Gaming Moment

Let me first start by saying I am not an emotional person. I watched the Notebook without blinking an eye, I conquered Marley & Me while maintaining my composure, and sat through 3 and a half hours of James Cameron's Titanic more annoyed than depressed. Movies simply have not been able to affect me in any profound way. You sit in a movie theater for a few hours, endure some poignant scenes and as soon as it' over, out of sight out of mind. It's hard to develop that lasting connection with characters you only see on screen for a limited time.

Video games however are an immersive experience. You don't play the spectator role and watch the protagonist save the day, you are the hero. Not to mention that video games, especially RPGs, can range from 10 to 100+ hours. There is more than enough time to relate to characters, embed yourself in the story, and submerge yourself in their world.

I've only encountered a few gaming moments which made me feel genuinely gloomy. The end of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was one. It left me with a miserable feeling at its closure, but nothing close to tears. Several Final Fantasy titles showcased heartbreaking moments. Aerith's death in FF7 was a shocker, but I was more upset that I wasted my time leveling her up than her getting stabbed through the stomach. Final Fantasy X's ending was one to note. If my dreamt up boyfriend jumped off an airship and disappeared I'd be pretty upset too.

But by far Final Fantasy VIII is the game that has emotionally impacted me the most. Though the game as a whole was somewhat forceful with its romantic encounters and at times as predictable as a chick flick, I couldn't help myself from investing in the drama.

To see her floating in space, running out of oxygen, it really crossed my mind that she was going to die. This time however I wasn't worried about how much money I wasted buying equipment for her or leveling her up, I was genuinely invested in her character and all the things she had left to do. If you are one of the people who have not had the pleasure of playing FF8, I highly recommend it. Especially if you enjoy character depth and the moments like this that define emotion. This has been a brief recollection into my saddest video game moment.

My name is Taylor Stein. I'm a college student and avid gamer who loves to reach people of similar interest through writing. After founding gamingprecision.com I decided to pursue a solo venture that would encapsulate my personal gaming journey called Gamer Girl Tay.

Gaming Is a Blessing: The Benefits of Gaming

Many parents and people believe that gaming does nothing but rotten an individual's mind, but that is not necessarily true. Parents are so convinced that video gaming consumes that mind of their children that they fail to realize the benefits that they can bring to their child. One of the most common benefits discussed about gaming is that they are great tools to improve a child's hand and eye coordination, but they can also help with critical thinking skills, personal fitness, socializing and give parents the reassurance that their children are not out on the streets getting into trouble. Video games can be more beneficial than a parent would think.

Of course one of the major concerns about video games is that it is a distraction to the youth, it only produces couch potatoes and good for nothing individuals, but with me being a gamer myself I find those statements to be far from the truth. Video games enable individuals to think critically due to the fact that most games produces in my generation are complex and they require gamers to solve puzzles or answer trivia in order to proceed to the next level. For example games like Uncharted: where the main character is on the quest to find a historic treasure, throughout the game you are asked to complete difficult puzzles in order to unlock the way to the treasure. This game required me to use my brain and come up with creative ways to solve the puzzles. These games also help with building creativity in the mind of its gamer, by taking them to places they never would imagine, defeating magical creature and doing the impossible. With the help of video games kids can increase their mind which can be beneficial as they get older because businesses love new bright and creative minds.

Being healthy is a major concern around the United States, especially with the stereotype that Americans are overweight and unhealthy. Video games can be the solution to all the health concerns of America. With majority of the games created today requiring intensive physical movement, most gamers can get a hard workout without even setting foot in the gym. There are dancing games and exercise games that allow gamers to have fun with family and friends without even knowing their getting a workout. Video games are making being in shape something fun to do by giving gamers new exciting ways to stay healthy. Games are a great way to entertain your kids and also keep them physically fit. Yes its true that games may keep children in front of the television for long periods of times, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Parents think about it, with all the violence young people are getting into these days isn't it great to see your child safely out of harms way? Children spending countless hours on the video game can help parents make sure their children are safely in the house, instead of running the streets. Video gaming is like an ultimate anti-drug for kids. With all of the drugs and crime that is surfacing the streets of the world, I'm sure you parents would rather see your child playing the new madden.

Lastly, video gaming has become a social norm for today's society by letting kids interact with their friends and also create new friends through online gaming. Majority of kids in America play them, which allows kids to share similarities with other kids and build closer bonds and friendships. they can also create healthy relationships between kids and their friends; this can result in a healthier childhood for your child. So before you go and label video games as a negative influence, think again and realize all the benefits they have to offer.
